Cut the pieces
- Dark A (green): cut 1 - 6 1/2" x 6 1/2".
- Medium A (green): cut 1 - 7 3/16" x 7 3/16"; cut in half diagonally twice to make 4 triangles.
- Background: cut 14 - 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 28 triangles.
- Dark B (brown): cut 2 - 3 7/8" x 3 7/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
- Medium B (brown): cut 10 - 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 20 triangles.
Piecing directions
- Stitch Medium A triangles to opposite sides of Dark A square. Repeat with the remaining two Medium A triangles.

- Stitch together the Background and Medium B triangles to make 10 squares. Stitch squares together along with a Background triangle as illustrated. Make 4 of each unit.

- Stitch the units from Step 2 to the Dark B triangles.

- Stitch two corner triangle units to opposite sides of the center square unit. Repeat with the remaining triangle units to complete the block.
