Idaho Mock Orange
Cut the pieces
- Background (blue): Cut 4 - 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”; mark a diagonal line on the wrong side.
- Background (blue): Cut 8 - 2 1/2” x 2 1/2"; mark a diagonal line on the wrong side.
- Green: Cut 3 - 2 1/2” x 2 1/2".
- White: Cut 4 - 4 1/2” x 4 1/2”.
- White: Cut 8 - 2 1/2” x 4 1/2”.
- Dark Yellow: Cut 2 - 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”; cut in half diagonally to make 4 triangles.
- Light Yellow: Cut 1 - 3 5/16” x 3 5/16”.
Piecing directions
- Petals
Place a 1 7/8” marked Background square right sides together with the White 4 1/2” x 4 1/2” as illustrated. Stitch on the marked line. Trim seam and press. Repeat for the remaining White squares to make 4 petals.

- Petal Sides
Place a 2 1/2” marked Background square right sides together with the White 2 1/2” x 4 1/2” rectangle. Stitch on the marked line. Trim seam and press. Repeat for the remaining White rectangles, making 4 slant in one direction and the other 4 slant the opposite way, as illustrated.

- Flower Center
Place two Dark Yellow triangles right sides together on opposite sides of the Light Yellow 3 5/16” square as illustrated. Stitch and press. Repeat with the remaining 2 triangles.

- Finishing
Stitch together all units as a 9 patch, first into rows of 3 units, then stitch together the 3 rows.
