- Side petal units – Make 2
Place a marked blue 1½” square right sides together with a lavender 2” x 3½”. Stitch on the marked line, trim the corner, ¼“ from the seam, and press seam toward corner. To this stitch a blue 3½” x 4½” on one side, a 1½” x 3½” on the other. Stitch these units to the leaf units.

- Center petal/stem unit – Make 1
Petals:
Place a marked blue 1½” square right sides together with a lavender 3½” x 4½” for the bottom petal, a purple 3½” x 4½” for the top petal. Stitch as for the side petal units. Repeat for adjoining corner.
Flower center:
Cut the lavender and the yellow 2¾” squares in half diagonally twice to make 4 triangles each (you will only use two of each). Stitch together a yellow and a lavender triangle, as illustrated. Stitch these units to a purple triangle cut from a 3” square (only one of these will be used).
Stem:
Stitch together two blue and one dark green 1½” x 3” rectangles. Stitch this to the petals and flower center.

- Outer petal units – Make 2
Place a marked lavender 2” square right sides together with a blue 2” x 7”. Stitch on the marked line, trim the corner, ¼“ from the seam, and press seam toward corner. To this stitch a blue 2” x 6”. Stitch these units to the leaf and center units to complete the block.
