Cut the pieces
- Background (blue): cut 2 - 5 7/8" x 5 7/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
- Center (yellow): cut 5 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
- Leaf (green): cut 2 - 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
- Light: Cut 4 - 2" x 2 1/2"
- Light: Cut 2 - 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
- Light Medium: Cut 4 - 2" x 2 1/2"
- Light Medium: Cut 2 - 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
- Medium: Cut 4 - 2" x 2 1/2"
- Medium: Cut 2 - 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
- Dark: Cut 4 - 2" x 2 1/2"
- Dark: Cut 2 - 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"; cut each in half diagonally once, making a total of 4 triangles.
Piecing directions
- Stitch one each of this combination of triangles together: Light/Light Medium, Light/Medium, Dark/Light Medium, and Dark/Medium.

- Stitch the green triangles to the Light, Light Medium, Medium and Dark rectangles, triangles and the units from Step 1 as illustrated.

- Stitch the units from Step 2 to the large Background triangles.

- Stitch a Light rectangle on each end of a Center square. Repeat for the remaining Centers and Light Medium, Medium, and Dark rectangles.

To finish the block, assemble as for a 9-Patch as illustrated.
