Roxanna Herders's Winsome Wildflowers Quilt

April, 2004 - Last year, Roxanna Herder and her guild all purchased the Winsome Wildflowers Pattern. Here's what Roxanna said about her project:

We made the Winsome Wildflower blocks as a quilting bee project for our guild, Patchers at the Lakeshore (PALS). I made all the blocks from fabrics in my stash. All the backgrounds are different. I purchased the fabric for the rest of the quilt after I finished the blocks. When I completed the blocks I had to decide how I was going to lay the blocks out. I went to my Electric Quilt 5 Program and found the layout that I used for the quilt. I have a second set of blocks done all in batiks, and I am in the process of trying to decide how I will lay out these blocks. A local long arm quilter did all the quilting for me and I think she did a fabulous job.
Both Roxanna and her long arm quilter did a wonderful job! The expert quilting was done by Tammy Finkler, TK Quilting, Conklin, MI, 616-899-5551, tkquilt@prodigy.net. To see details of the quilt: Detail 1 and Detail 2. The innovative setting, great quilting, and cheery flower blocks make this a stunning quilt!

If you also would like to make your own Winsome Wildflowers blocks, all twelve blocks are available as a pattern from Jeanne Rae Crafts.
