Hole in the Barn Door

  1. Cut 1 light 4½" square.
  2. 2½" x 4½": Cut 4 light, 4 dark; stitch rectangles together.
  3. 4 7/8" squares: cut 2 light, 2 dark; then cut each diagonally to make 4 triangles of each color. Stitch triangles together.
  4. Stitch into rows of three, then stitch the 3 rows together.

Make 6 blocks as above and 6 with the light/dark reversed. Put together 12 Hole in the Barn Door blocks in 4 rows of 3 each. Add 3" borders. This is a throw size quilt, 42" x 54".
